Christina Malama
Christina Malama holds an MSc in Oceanography and a degree in Geology (University of Patras, 2023). She is currently a Researcher at Oceanus Lab, where her work focuses on marine litter and seafloor processes.
Her interest in marine environments began during her undergraduate thesis on benthic marine litter in Cyprus, conducted in collaboration with Oceanus Lab. She also completed an internship at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR), gaining experience in marine research and fieldwork. In addition, she undertook a traineeship at the University of Gothenburg during her master's programme, where she investigated the relationship between sea currents and marine litter concentrations.
She is an active member of the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece (GEOTEE) and the Hellenic Geological Society (EGE). Additionally, she has been involved with SEG UPatras, contributing to the organization of scientific activities and field expeditions in Greece and abroad.
